Before taking over sponsorship of the Event in 2010, the WILCO Relay is based on the famous Round Island Relay which has had a long history in Vanuatu.

The Event Organiser is EVENT LOGIC, who started running events in Vanuatu in 2010 with the WILCO Relay and the Vanuatu Adventure Race.

EVENT LOGIC is a divisional arm of EDGE, who have been running adventure tours in Vanuatu since 2005.

The WILCO Relay starts with a compulsory briefing in the WILCO car park the afternoon before the event on Friday the 22^nd of July.

It is then an early start on Saturday the 23^rd with the Premier Female start being pre-dawn at 5:00am in the morning.

It is then a Relay Race around the Island of Efate on the ring Road, with 10 persons in each team.
